Stop the Bleed Course Overview presented by Rob Soto
In almost any violent encounter injuries will be sustained. Survivability will not only depend on mitigating the threat, but also identifying and treating wounds in a timely manner.

This course teaches participants the basic life-saving medical interventions, including bleeding control with a tourniquet, bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents, and opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe.

-rationale for early use of a tourniquet for life-threatening extremity bleeding
-appropriate application of a tourniquet to the arm and leg
-progressive strategy for controlling hemorrhage
-appropriate airway control techniques and devices
-correct application of a topical hemostatic agent

Children’s Empowerment Workshop: Anti-Bullying

Please join Progressive Self Defense Systems (PSDS), Saturday, January 6th, 2018, 12:30pm-2:00pm for a day of empowerment for our children as they learn techniques to help protect them against bullying. Children ages 5-12 are invited to attend along with their parents to begin the journey to become more confident and stronger in today’s ever challenging world. Verbal skills as well as physical skills will be taught and practiced during this seminar.

Please have your child bring a backpack with them and wear comfortable clothes that they can exercise in.

The Instructors of this seminar will be the owner and Master Instructor of PSDS, Mr. John Riddle and Master Teresa Throckmorton, owner of Central Park Taekwondo in New York City and PSDS children’s instructor. Defensive Handgun Level 2: August 5, 2018

In Defensive Handgun Level 2 the student will re-emphasize the fundamentals of shooting at 3-5-7 yards as a warm-up before getting into the main part of the class. 

Upon completion of Defensive Handgun Level 2 the student will have an in-depth and technical understanding of shooting on the move as in forward, rear-ward, and lateral movement, use of cover, firing positions, and single hand shooting both Strong & Support Side. 

Prior to the end of the course the students will shoot a timed “Standards Drill” and “Movement Course” on paper and steel targets.
